2K a year Cosmetology Program Director Delta Technical College, an established career college with campuses throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta region, is seeking a Full-Time Cosmetology Program Director for our Horn Lake, Mississippi Campus.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to manage the Cosmetology Program and ensure high levels of student and faculty satisfaction, compliance with academic policies and procedures, recruiting, training, retaining, and developing outstanding instructors, and focusing on student retention.

Director of Education/Campus President
Qualifications:
Have a minimum of three years of work experience in the Cosmetology field.
Must be a licensed Cosmetology Instructor for the State of Mississippi.
Must have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational/technical education.
Have strong organizational skills and a genuine sensitivity to the needs of the students.
Knowledgeable of the course content and proficient in all skills taught within the program.
Competent, as evidenced by satisfactory performance of skills, of all competencies taught in curriculum.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
Preparation in educational theory and techniques preferred.
This can include formal education, continuing education and/or in-service education.
Have a professional attitude and manner that reflects the high standards of MTI/DTC and the relevant program represented.
Have the ability to stand for long periods of time during lecture and clinical time.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum development and ongoing curriculum review.
Ensure that all instructors are following approved MTI/DTC curriculum.
Assure compliance with accreditation mandates and standards in all areas of the program.
Be punctual and arrive no later than 7:
45 am to greet instructors and students as they start the day.
When observing night classes, must be on campus no later than 5:
00 pm.
Be courteous to and approachable by instructors and students.
Adhere to approved policies and procedures in the conduct of all instructional activities.
Supervise and coordinate module schedule and staff to student ratio.
Review course books and selection of any new materials, as well as review of currently used materials.
Ordering or coordination of ordering of all supplies needed for the programs, following approval by the Director of Education or President.
Offer support in any needed fashion to all instructors.
May act as a substitute in the case of an absence from an instructor.
Provide additional assistance, in the way of tutoring, to students who may be struggling.
Assist with placement of students, offering reference letters and resources for student placements.
Assist with disciplinary actions related to students' academics, attendance or conduct.
Attend weekly Save Our Students and placement meetings.
Attend monthly program and staff meetings.
Attend all Professional Advisory Board Meetings, Graduation Ceremonies, open houses, instructor training, and other required functions.
Lead and plan bi-annually, and as needed, advisory board meetings for the program.
Choosing members for the advisory board will also be program director's responsibility.
Provide placement, retention, and certification exam updates, where applicable, to Director of Education at monthly program meetings.
Join or maintain membership to a professional organization pertaining to the professional responsibilities of MTI and attend conferences for this professional organization as needed.
Maintain CEU's as required by your professional organization.
Assist with interviewing and hiring of all program personnel.
